RINSE quinoa thoroughly in hot water to remove bitter taste.
DRAIN with strainer.
COVER and turn down to medium-low OR low, depending on how low your stove cooks.
SHUT off burner and let SIT for another 30 minutes to keep it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
SERVE immediately OR chill.
PLACE quinoa, salt, and water in rice cooker and stir.
If you are not going to eat it right away, remove it from heat as soon as it's done cooking and transfer it to a glass dish. Fluff it up nicely and then let it chill. This will help keep it from clumping together into a sticky block and make it easier for using or serving later.
