Recipe Notes

You are not limited to this recipe! As long as you have a total of 7 cups puffed cereal of choice, 3/4 cup of some kind of nut or seed, and 1 1/2 c. of your favorite bits of dried fruit, you have the same ingredients. For nut butter you can use almond butter, cashew butter, or even sunflower seed butter or sesame tahini! If you don’t have coconut oil, you can substitute with earth balance or some kind of margarine. The sky is the limit! Here are a few ideas:

Hawaiian bars: dried pineapple & dried papaya for the fruit, and macadamia nuts and coconut for the nuts.

Cranberry Nut bars: use just dried cranberries, walnuts, and almonds Energy Nut bars: use 2 cup nuts and omit all dried fruit.

Seed bars: use sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds instead of the nuts, and seed butter instead of nut butter.

Apple Raisin bars: use 1 cup chopped dried apples and 1/2 cup raisins, and use 2 tsp coriander What is your favorite flavor? You can even add a drop or two of flavorings/flavor oils. Use your imagination!!
